Year 7 French Trip
28 June 2010
The sun shone, baguettes were eaten, and the children spoke a little French (hopefully!). Yet again, the Year 7 French trip proved itself to be one of the most popular trips throughout the children's time at Moor Park. Lots of fun and laughter at the water park, alongside moments of contemplation as the children saw first hand just how many soldiers died during the Second World War, with a visit to a War Cemetary.

Year 5 Camp
24 June 2010
The Year 5 camp was a resounding success. The sun shone, and the children had the most amazing time, building shelters to sleep under, rafts to get across the river (slightly submerged) and water slides to whizz down. Thanks to Mr & Mrs Parish who very kindly let us use the grounds of Walcott Hall.

Year 8 Girls Rounders Tour to Foremarke Hall
24 June 2010
The year 8 girls have just returned from an extremely enjoyable rounders tour at Foremarke Hall in Derbyshire. They played lots of rounders and enjoyed the beautiful school surroundings. The A team beat Foremarke by 15 1/2 rounders to 13 1/2 - n o mean feat when you realise that Foremarke are National Champions. The B team had a good match but sadly lost by 14 1/2 to 9 1/2. Thanks to all involved in the trip

May Ball raises £16,000
8 May 2010
The May Ball was a huge success. The Henderson Hall was unrecognisable with its marquee liner and all the beautiful flowers. The guests were treated to a delicious dinner courtesy of Dipper and her staff, alongside puddings made by the parents. Both the raffle and Auction were well supported, and the end result is that the Ball looks set to raise £16,000, which is a phenomenal result. Our thanks must go to Naomi Dobson and the rest of her team from the MPPA for such a succesful evening.

County Hockey Champions
25 March 2010
Both our U13 and U11 Girls Hockey Teams won their County Tournaments, making Moor Park Shropshire Champions for both age groups - well done to all involved. The U13 girls then completed in the Midlands finals, coming third which was a great achievement

New kneelers for chapel
18 June 2009
The chapel is desperately short of kneelers and needs another 60 to provide enough for everyone to be able to pray in comfort! The company who designed the existing kneelers has been approached and is producing 60 more kneeler kits to match those we already have - one design bears a stag's head against a green background, the other carries a representation of the old school building. It is hoped that parents might like to buy and make them up (in cross stitch), and then present them to the school. The kneelers can be personalised to carry a child's initials and the dates they attended the school - they are therefore an ideal way to commemorate a child's years at Moor Park and will be a lasting reminder of that child's presence in the school which will benefit pupils for years to come. Each kit costs £40, and for those who need help in making them up it is hoped to provide a workshop in the autumn, as well as a list of people prepared to make them up for others. Anyone wishing to order a kit please contact the school office

On both MPTV weekends, children have learnt the skills of presenters, vision mixer, sound recordist, outside broadcast reporter, studio director, video editor, production assistant and many more. All in 24 hours!

It is intended to repeat the exercise in the near future. Meanwhile, send any enquiries to mptv@moorpark.org.uk
